One Day

If I were to give up one day out of my life, which would it be?

The day of my birth? No. I would have missed being loved by a dear family.

When I met my husband? No. Then the most precious times in this life would never have happened.

When one of our children were born? No. Each one is an individual, special and especially loved.

When I die? No. Dying is the act of change. Leaving the old, out worn concepts for the new and unlimited.

The only day I could give up would be one when no one stopped to help someone in need.

When a hug would have helped, but no one gave it.

When a tear flowed down a cheek, and no one cared.

When not even one person took the time in a busy day to look at his fellow man and behold the reflection of God.

May 29th, 1939 - June 3rd, 2022

This poem epitomizes its’ author, Sandra Nadine (Mustoe) McCabe, who passed away in her home, surrounded by the love of her children on June 3, 2022. The world lost a beautiful soul. Her children lost their greatest and most devoted love, champion, and friend.

Sandra was born on May 29, 1939, in Topeka, Kansas to Arlie Lee & Charlotte Mustoe. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband of 50 years, Marlin Edward McCabe. She leaves behind five children; Marc McCabe, Marla (Robert) Slawson, Charlotte (Brian) Ferrill, Danielle McCabe, David (Liz) McCabe, two bonus children; Suzan Kietzman and Greg (Toni) McCabe, 15 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, her two sisters; Sharon (Michael) Jackson and Sheila (Ronnie) Christy, and her brother Arlie Lee Jr. ( ).

Sandra was a loving, kind and compassionate person blessed with a great sense of humor. She was a talented artist with a passion for painting and drawing. She enjoyed the outdoors and especially loved being in the mountains.

She was a faithful witness for her God, Jehovah for over 25 years. She spread her knowledge of him with both her words and actions.
